Case won't close

A while ago I had a buddy of mine crack open my 15" Macbook Pro (2006 model) to install a new harddrive. When he put the case back together a gap formed on the front of the case to the left of the trackpad. I never got around to fixing it, but the other night I opened it up to clean my fans, & even though I tried to get it all closed up, I couldn't fix that gap. Also, I'm now having problems above the superdrive.

I know there are those L-shaped things in the cover above the superdrive, & I don't think they're sitting right, but they had all fallen out of place so I'm not sure how they are supposed to go.

So, if there anyone who has had experience with this who could help me out? Please & thank you.

I open those things up daily being a tech. There is a trick to getting the snaps to work unless your buddy broke/bent the snaps. That's why Apple put little gotchas in place to keep peoples buddies from working on their machines. Its one of those things it would take me 30 seconds to do but there is no best way to describe it. Plus I'd have to look at it to see if you or your buddy damaged something.

Yea...it's possible that he could have done something...he kicked me out of the room while he was working on it because I wasn't used to the idea of opening up computers & was being really fidgetty about it. I like to think that I was careful enough not to bend anything, but it's very possible I did.

Do you know of any online resources that would show how it is supposed to fit together? Because if I can get a visual of how it is supposed to go, I can figure it out, I just haven't been able to find anything.

Here you go. Click the link for top case removal. I don't know how much help its going to be. What I learned about those top cases was from shelling hundreds of these things until it became second nature.
