I haven't seen any such sites. To keep the quality differences they'd probably have to leave the footage in an uncompressed format which would be a big waste of bandwidth and server space. That's if the DV compression on the camera doesn't bugger it up first.
Do you have any 'small' shops in your area that sell these devices? If so, try going to one and selecting two similar cameras (a single and a 3 ccd model) and have them shoot some test footage. Most smaller places will probably be open to doing such, especially if it means a sale.
The local Circuit City (my area) was pretty good with doing stuff like this, but I'm not sure about their other locations. Dropping the $$$ for the HDTV, HDTV receiver, and various other expensive goodies that day may have influenced them a bit to be more helpful. <G>
On a technical level...or at least in theory...the 3ccd camera should have the better quality. In real life, it's a different story. Quality of optics, electronics, CCDs, etc...all will make a difference.
I bought a single CCD camera, after narrowing it down between two (
Canon Elura 80 &
Panasonic GS65). I couldn't justify the extra price at the time for the 3ccd Panasonic model (it was $120 at that time), as the differences in the two just weren't noticeable. We shot a few different scenes with both models in the store and directly behind it (outside) with snow on the ground and a bright sun. Both were close, but the Canon did better under the outside conditions for some reason. So, I bought it.
I'll throw the money I saved in the bank for future purchase of a HD camera (
Sony).
