CD disk images.....

OK so I just read the faq on how to get games working without their cd's. OK so I made a disk image of everything thats on the Brood War CD (which i purchased legally) and it wouldn't work even after trying to mount it using toast. A lot is missing from a lot of the faqs. Like half of the replies. Could anyone help me out with this problem?

but I think you have to install a no cd crack that can usually be found in illicit warez channels... PM me for the channel I saw it in.

Since you have legally purchased your copy, I wouldn't, if I were you, have an ethical problem with using that sort of crack to make it work the way you need it to.
 
illicit warez channels? what on irc? yeah i think thats a bit too much work for me. But thanx for the help anyway. I just thought it would be cool to be able to have the disk images instead of the cd but if i can't do that its all good in the hood.

it works perfectly for me with broodwar

have you tried mounting it with disc copy instead of toast?
 
put in brood war cd

open disk copy

file>new>image from device (i used compressed image, encryption)

eject disc

double click image to mount (or mount using disc copy if toast takes over at this point, i dont have it so i dont know)



all done in 10.2 with starcraft/broodwar 1.09
