Anyone have recommendations for software to convert CD Tracks into mp3 format? (or OGG Vorbis for that matter).

In windows I used to use a quick hack someone created called CDCOPY. Alas, no Mac version.

Thanks guys!

Hey guys, I found 'lame', I ran the install and everything seemed to go fine.

I am aware that this is a command line app, but I have never run command line apps in Mac0SX before.

I tried 'whereis lame' and 'which lame' but not getting anything... hrm.. I tried looking in the MacOSX applications folder too, where things usually end up where installed, but couldn't find anything.

Sorry for the simple question. All the documentation for the lame app I believe is in that directory too. haha.

Harvey, cdcopy is for copying cds like in toast. If you have a cd of music, and you want to convert that music to mp3s, use iTunes. You should have it on your system. :)

Lame, by the way, is located in /usr/local/bin/lame for some reason. To run it, type "./usr/local/bin/lame" It doesn't do batch encoding, but I believe there are GUIs for this available. Check versiontracker.com.
