I have been given a CD-R of pictures that was compiled on a PC with Windows XP.
I have tried to look at the CD with my Quicksilver G4 running 10.4.7 and my iBook G4 1.42 also running 10.4.7. Neither could read the CD. Said "cannot read this CD". Also had a quick go on the old Powerbook G3 running 9.2.2 with the same results, but offered to reformat in PRODoS!
I tried in a work hp laptop running Win 2000 Professional which said the "disk is empty".
I have been assured by the sender that he has looked at the photos he put on the CD "So they must be there somewhere". He's not that good with computers, though and may have made a mistake.
Is there a format option available in XP when writing to CD that would give the error messages above?
If not, he may have not done a proper copy and just opened his originals on his PC in error, thinking it was the CD he was looking at!!
