CD-RW and OS X

I have a PB 667 with combo drive. Once i burn a cd-rw, the OS won't let me rewrite.

Does OS X recognize CD-RW discs? How do I reburn?

Peace.

CD-RW support is not ideal. The only way that I have found to re-use a CD-RW is to erase it and start over. Note that I haven't tried adding to an existing CD-RW (it was formatted for Windows, so the OS thought it was read-only).

To erase a CD-RW, use the Disk Utility in /Applications/Utilities. There's an Erase tab on the right. Choose the CD-RW on the left, click on Erase, prepare to wait for a while. I don't know if this is typical, but it took me about a half hour to erase my CD-RW. As I said previously, however, my CD-RW was in Windows format at the time so YMMV.

HALF AN HOUR! It takes disk utility 55 seconds to erase my 80min/700mb CR-RWs! And my drive is only a 12x8x24. I timed it :D

And this is a 700 mhz G4, so it's not blindingly fast either.

I have iomegazipCD650USB (4x4x6). It takes about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to clear CDRW(if I use the Apple's program). Toast will do it in 5 minutes. If you use quick erase (in Toast) it will only take a minute.

Half an hour to convert from Windows formatting to Mac formatting. About a minute to quick-erase a Mac formatted drive.

Sorry for any misunderstandings...
