change icon for ALL folders

Hi, new to the Mac world and I love it! I can't believe how stable Mac is.

Question: I've learned how to change the icon for a specific folder. How do I change icons for ALL folders?

I purchased the software ShapeShifter, which has an icon setting section -- but that doesn't seem to do the job.

I've heard of crashing and other issues associated with CandyBar, but it's a pretty cool app.
