changing icon/authorizing windows hd

I was trying to change the icon by doing cmd+i, cmd+c; then cmd+i and cmd+v on the new info of the new icon i want to change. but i cant seem to do this for my hd that is formated into windows. and on the hd, it says i can only read. is there anyway for me to write also?
