changing mouse pointers?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where can I change the mouse pointers in OS X?

... you can't. I haven't even heard of someone modifying a resource file so that you can change it.

I know you could in OS 9 by adding an extension, but I have no clue on how to do it in OS X.

This would be very cool. I feel the pointer in X is " like sooooo last year" . jk... It needs to be eh hemm... "aquafied". Not literally made to look like aqua but smoother around the edges and more appealling overall.

OMG, BTW... The Chia Pet commercial was just on!! That thing comes out every year around Christmas, i think its just becasue they know people buy it for friends and family as a gag for the holidays. But if any of you want to get me one... feel free

Maybe a 10.2 update or something. I just assumed that I could do this, coming from the UNIX and Windows world. I find it funny that you can't on a Mac, considering how graphics-oriented it is.
