Changing the batteries in wireless mouse

I have 2 sets of rechargable batteries that I switch between every time one runs out. Every time I switch the click works, but not the movement, most times if I leave it for about 4 hours it will work fine but other times it wont work at all

how can I solve this problem?

For most cordless mouses you have to resynchronise the mouse with the receiver hookep up to the system after switch batteries. This is done by pressing the buttons on both the mouse and receiver. Sometimes (e.g. logitech) you have to press them together for about 5 seconds.
