cheapest easiest blogger and service?

Hi all. What is the cheapest, easiest blogger? I would like to post a blog/news site on my earthlink account.

1. is iBlog the best? Should I go with Movable Type and Frequency?
2. Should I blog to my earthlink account or is there something free and easier?

P.S. Comments on the blog is not necessary. Its just for posting research news.
 
iBlog needs WebDAV access. If you have PHP enabled on it, you could try out Rodin. It's a very simple blogging tool, which i made some changes to (to suit my needs). I sent the changes back to the developer, and he was considering including them...
 
MovableType. It's one of the best blogging systems out there, it's highly configurable, written in perl, easy to set up, and simple to use. I highly recommend it.
 
blogger (blogger.com) is pretty easy and well featured for a free blog app. but I don't think Movable Type can be beat overall. but you'll need to have a webhost with MT - not with blogger.

I use both as I need one or the other's features.
 
Moveable Type is probably your best option, and considering what you've said it sounds like you're doing a non-commercial site....if so the fee for moveable type is zero...nada...nothing.
