I'm thinking of buying one of the old clamshell iBooks, probably on eBay, (I don't know where else I could get one cheaply), mainly just as an alternative to my iMac, and for intense customising/playing-around-with-the-OS projects without damaging my actual computer. I'd probably use it for internet browsing, too, and as a portable typing machine.
Point is, I'm not sure that some of these deals aren't too good... I read a comment a couple of weeks ago that you're unlikely to get any working laptop for under $300... so, if anyone has the time, could you just tell me what you think?
Favourite - has 320MB RAM - iBook 1 - $76 - what's the idea of only having a 9" screen, though?
iBook 2 - $137
iBook 3 - $200 - is "I unfortunately have lost the box and orginal software" a little fishy (coming as it is with Photoshop 7 and all sorts of other desirables)?
iBook 4 - $20 ?!
How would installing Panther work, on the ones that don't already have it?
Thanks!
