I have an old ibook that I wanted to prepare for resale. I don't know how to delete all of my files leaving just the factory settings intact. I have the original Cd's that came with the computer and wanted to sell it on ebay, but not have my private info available to whomever buys it from me. Anyone know how to do this?
 
'I don't know how to delete all of my files leaving just the factory settings intact.', you do not; instead - you wipe the hard drive totally, and then reinstall the MacOS.

Just do this:
01. Backup / copy all your personal information.
02. Boot from the Apple provided CD.
03. Locate and run 'Drive Setup', select the iBook's hard disk drive from the 'List of Drives', click the 'Initialize...' button, continue through the process, and then quit 'Drive Setup'.
04. Run the System (MacOS) 8.6 installer.
05. List your iBook on eBay ... and make some money!
