We are currently experiencing a problem connecting to NT 4.0 server via AppleTalk from classic 9.2.2. Here is the scenario.
Mac OS X 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 & 10.1.4
running any OS 9 app in classic 9.2.2
Connecting to an NT 4.0 server with SFM via AppleTalk
When browsing certain folders classic hangs and hangs OS X too.
We have replicated the problem on the 933's and the iMac 800's.
We deleted the desktop DB and Trash folders from the folders in question and the same problem exist.
Interestingly we have a graphite G4 that we upgraded to OS X from the OS X software package (not the system CD's that come with the new 933's and 800 iMacs). We installed the incremental updates 10.1, 10.1.1, 10.1.2, 10.1.3, 10.1.4. It works fine with classic 9.2.2 connecting to the same NT 4.0 server via AppleTalk.
We can't try the incremental updates on the new 933's and iMac 800's because the OS X 10.1 CD that you buy from Apple does not work on the new silver bullets and iMacs. (A message comes up stating that the software cannot be installed on that model of machine).
Has anyone experienced the same problem and if so ... any solutions?
