Hey,

First off Im a complete Mac noob, jsut got a Blk MacBook a month ago.

I started college a few weeks ago and they have, what Im guessing, is the iChat, Aim, etc ports blocked.

Is there anyway I can get past this? Its rather annoying to be honest...

I remember my college did the same thing. You should contact the network admin. We needed the proxy server name and password to set-up AIM and Yahoo. They would give it to us, although it was not something they easily volunteered to give. We often stressed to them, that we needed to keep in touch with parents, through AIM, and other college students for collaborative reasons.;)

Another way that worked was some people used Netscape browser, that had AIM built-in, and used that for chatting purposes.

Lastly, if you know anyone, fellow students that works with the network admin, you could ask them for the information. :)

My college does the same thing(The engineering network). I had to install or setup a vpn client. I got it from my college's computer service site and they had a vpn client link. I installed cisco vpn client.
