So I have read around and I know the G4's have power supply issues. Usually the solution is to reset the power management button on the motherboard but that does not seem to work in this case...
My wife has a dual processor G4 with the blueish colored case. After a brief power outage caused by a popped circuit breaker (not from power company - I was running too many things at one time) the computer will no longer power on. I have tried every combination under the sun to try and reset that power management button with no luck.
This happened once before, about a year ago...but the computer just decided to boot up fine when we plugged it in at a computer shop (so they did not charge us.)
I would hate to take it in if I don't have to since I have worked on PC's for years and have never needed the services of a tech before. I suppose I am spoiled and don't want to pay for something I think I can do myself. I thought I would ask you guys if you have any suggestions before I buy a new power supply for the machine.
Cheers,
