Complicated network / printer sharing issue

Network looks like this:

Cable Modem
|
V
Linksys Router (RT31P2)
| |
V V
Mac Pro Airport Express
|
V
laptops (wireless)

I have an HP printer that I want to share with the Mac Pro and the laptops.

Try 1: Connecting printer to Airport Express via USB
Result: laptops can print via bonjour, mac pro cant see printer

Try 2: Connecting printer to Mac Pro via USB and enabling Printer Sharing
Result: mac pro can print, laptops can't see printer

Apple Tech Support suggested setting up a DMZ on my wireless router which will open up the mac pro to the world (if I understood correctly) and thus enable it to see the printer when plugged into the Airport? This sounds terribly insecure, and I think there's gotta be a better way.

Mac Pro has no wireless card.

Any advise?

I think your info on the setup is not complete - Is the express there just to add wireless to the other router? Have you turned off router functions (unchecked distribute IP addresses) on the Express, so it isn't giving out IP addresses (otherwise, Express would effectively isolate the PC's from the rest of your LAN)?

express just adds wireless, correct. the linksys has ethernet ports, but no built in wireless.

The Express is running with whatever settings it comes with by default, except for enabling a password for the network. Ok, just checked and I see a setting for 'Distribute IP addresses' and it's currently selected. You're suggesting turning it off? Trying now... :D

ok, seriously, why couldn't apple support figure this out!

works like a charm, thank you so very much.
