Has anyone else experienced this... and if there is a work-around. If I leave my new iPod in the universal dock attached to my MacPro 3GHz the computer hangs and makes a strange buzzing sound through my speakers. If i remove the iPod the machines starts up as normal and the buzzing sound instantly stop. As soon as the desktop is up and can re-dock my iPod and it works perfectly with iTunes....

I would just like to leave it docked to my computer... but I'm worried with the hanging and buzzing sounds that I may be causing some damage.... any comments or suggestions most welcome.

Yours sincerely,

Thats sounds terribly annoying.
1. Have you tried the Dock on another machine. (I see you have loads)

2. Have you tried the iPod without the Dock and does it make the noise then try it in another machine with and without the dock. If the noise is still sounded their must be a problem with your iPod, or if the noise isnt sounded in the dock with a different computer there must be a problem with your software on your Mac Pro :S Try formatting your iPod and starting again (open itunes and click restore when the iPod is selected) or try deleting everything that comes up in spotlight when entered 'com.apple.itunes'

3. Have you tried another iPod in and out of the Dock?

4. If the other steps dont work. remember to always tap the mute button when you step away from your computer. (or build a little script [If you can])

Hope this helps.
