Connect from Windows via FTP?

Hi!,

I wonder how another user (windows) can connect to my mac. We tried but it didn´t work, and i have port 21 open and have it enabled, there shouldn´t be any problem right?

Please help!

make sure you have windows sharring enabled in the system preferences, i had the same problem but now it all works fine.

You can use any FTP client from windows to connect. I do this all the time. Just make sure you have FTP enabled in the System Preferences.

on the windows end they can also use explorer to connect to you as well. In the address bar have them type "ftp://'username':'password'@'yourIP':'port'"

remove all the single quoting... I had to put that in there to avoid smilies.
if the port is not specified it defaults to 21

edit: I hate them smilies... always popping up when you don't want them to!

Open System Preferences, open the 'Sharing' PrefPane and check the box next to 'FTP Acess' and you're good to go.
