Connect to server problem??

Hi,



I'm trying to connect to my sister's computer and she to mine. I've done this many times in the past but recently changed the computer user name (long story) and my computer crashed and I had to do archive and install. Now I can't connect anymore. It asks if I'm the registered user and then I type my password and it says:

Connection Failed

Unknown user, incorrect password, or login is disabled. Please retype the name and password or contact the server's administrator.

I just retried it and from my sister's computer and I can connect to my computer. Turns out the wrong name was in there when it asks for registered user and password info. The problem is I still can't connect to my sister's computer from my computer. I get the same error message I stated above. I'm trying to figure this out. Any ideas?

I'm on an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1GB and my sister's is a Powerbook G4 1.67 GHz 512 MB DDR SDRAM

Make sure you're using her correct admin user name and password when you're entering it on your computer. (You can check by clicking on the Lock on any of the Account in Systems Preferences) Also, make sure Personal File Sharing is turned on. If you still can't connect, you could try creating a new admin account on your sisters computer to see if there is a permissions issue with her account (if so, use disk utility to repair permissions on her laptop.)

Lastly, you can try resetting her password using the OS X install disc.

Thanks so much for the helpful advice. What worked was creating a new admin account and I did repair disk permissions on her hard drive but I still can't sign on under the original user admin name. Very strange. Well at least I can get on with the new account created.
