Recently I purchased a new access point for use at college. On the setup for it, it has the option to hide the SSID. Since this thing will be in my dorm room, I thought it'd be wise to use that option so no one can see my access point. I already have a 128-bit encryption key so it's not like anyone would be able to connect anyway. But I noticed in the network preference pane you can have the computer connect to a specific Airport network. I tried this for connecting to my access point and it doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone has taken advantage of the option on their WAP to hide the SSID, and how one would go about connecting to the thing after the SSID has been hidden. Thanks!
