connecting an ibook G4 to a Macbook

Hi Guys,

I am in desperate need for some help .

I have an Ibook G4 that currently when i turn it on all i get is the apple symbol and then a circle with a line across it. I have so much stuff i need to retrieve from this computer.

I am wanting to know how do i connect my ibook to my husband's Macbook that only has a usb and an ethernet peripheral.

You can try plugging the usb in and boot the ibook up holding the T key for target disk mode. But I'm not sure thats going to work without firewire even though the ibook supports target disk mode. But otherwise your best bet is going to be finding a Mac with a firewire port.
