Connecting G4 speakers to 2009 MacBook Pro

Great set of speakers from my G4. 2001. The round ones. Small plug. New MacBook Pro has 3.5mm plug. Do I need to trash these speakers or is there an adapter to go from that G4 speaker plug to the minijack on the MacBook Pro? I've given up searching on here, and decided to post new question, and on Apple Support (and I was just on the phone for 15 minutes and I directed the guy who was helping me to their support page that identified the size of the jack on the MacBook Pro. He couldn't find that). Told him, "that size isn't the problem. I need to see if we can figure out the other one." He also didn't know if they would work anyway.

Anyone out there know? Thanks in advance. GJ
 
can answer my own question: These are Apple Pro Speakers and are 2.5mm. I need the iFire by Griffin that is discontinued. So, if I can find it somewhere, then I can use them.
