Connecting to a wireless network

Hello Guys,

Having been an avid PC user for over 10 years I just today went out and bought myself an Imac with a 17" flat panel widescreen monitor..I am delighted with it and it has pride of place in my living room. My question is to anyone who can help, My PC and laptop are located in different rooms upstairs and are networked and sharing a broadband connection with a Belkin Wireless gateway router. Am I right in thinking that by adding an airport card to my new Imac Downstairs, that I can communicate with the Belkin Router....which is 802.11B compliant and share the broadband connection?

Many thanks in advance...
