Hi there! Firstly, thanks in advance for your time, whoever you are.
I would call myself and lower/intermediate type of user. I work a lot with my mac desktop (733mhz powerPC G4 OSX 10.3.9)
My most urgent problem is that i just bought a wireless USB adaptor (Belkin). It says on the packet that its for windows but i managed to download a mac driver from their website, so technically it should work. Thats what belkin tech support told me anyway. i installed the software, but the computer doesnt read the device, it sais 'no device available'.
I dont have broadband acount myself but i know i am in a 'hot spot', or whatever it's called because other pc's pick up internet here. Now what i need to know is how would do i get connected to a wireless network, with such a usb device, if at all possible? i really dont know anything about what settings i should have to try and get connected. if you could help me with that would be great.
Another major prob is that the computer keeps crashing. Do you know why this is and what to do about it? (i use programs such as final cut pro and soundtrack to edit video and sound). i have two hardrives with about 3.5 gb of free space left. Do i need to clean out the computer and re-install the operating system?
Thank you again for you time, best regards, julia
