Consistent Kernal Panic?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else gets a kernal panic in this way:

Using disk copy, create a blank disk image, in Mac OS **STANDARD** (not extended) format. Make it CD-sized, no encryption or compression.

Now drag your OS9 system folder into it.

When mine is about half done copying, I get a Kernal Panic every time. Anyone else?
