Console games on iMac?

Does anyone know if there's a way for me to hook up a Gamecube, PS2, etc. to my iMac that's less expensive that buying a TV? I've been searching the net but I can't figure out what this adapter/converter/thingy would be called... Thanks!

Sorry about the double post, I didn't think it worked the first time. How do you delete them in this forum?

I took care of the double post.
As for your question, your computer needs video in ports and I do not think your iMac has that. You are better off getting a cheap television/monitor.

sometimes you can download emulators - but I don't think that emulators are available for newer systems, and not sure how many of them work on mac. And I think that there was a piece of legit software that let you play playstation cd's through your mac's cd drive. But I don't really remember about it. Try Google!

There was a good emulator for playstation 1 by connectix but they were sued. Everything else so far is bad or a virus.

I should warn you that it is completely useless trying to use most - if not all - video "bridges" to hook up a console to your iMac. The problem with these devices (the ones that take an analog video input and turn it into a digital output for you to plug into Firewire or USB port) is that they have a slight delay. On some the delay is less than half a second, on others the delay can be over two seconds. Whichever the case is, the bridges are great for importing video or TV, but useless for gaming.
