Converting Director MX files

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to convert Director MX dir files so they can be used on older versions such as 7 or 8. I've tried copying cast members from a file in MX to a new file in 7 (and 8) but it knows that the data is from a newer version and won't let me. There's also no way of saving down files from MX as far as I know.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't think you can once in MX, i know i opened a old file and I was asked if i wanted to convert the file to the newer format, and if i do i couldn't go back.
