are there any software out there that can convert a pdf file to a word document? or better yet, edit a pdf file?

thanks

You can import a pdf into Word 2004 but the coding renders it garbled.

It's time-consuming, but you could copy and paste. That works.

Drake, a plugin module for Adobe Acrobat 5 or 6 will convert PDFs to Rich Text Format (.rtf) but it is only available for Microsoft Windows. Virtual PC would probably be able to run it along with the Windows version of Acrobat Pro. As a ballpark cost estimate figure Adobe Acrobat Standard at $300, Drake 7.0 at $200, and Virtual PC with Windows XP Home Edition for $219. You could then transfer the file to the Mac volume and edit it with Word v.X.
