I don't know which forum this should go in so I just picked the big one...

I don't know what some of these are here for, but you oughta check them out...

/usr/share/misc/airport
/usr/share/misc/ascii
/usr/share/misc/birthtoken
/usr/share/misc/flowers
/usr/share/misc/inter.phone
/usr/share/misc/na.phone
/usr/share/misc/operator
/usr/share/misc/units.lib
/usr/share/misc/zipcodes

/usr/share/dict/*
/usr/share/calendar/*

Most of them might be quite useful, particularly if you're writing a program that uses that information or something. My favorite is /usr/share/dict/*.

I don't know about the flowers and birthtokens though.

They are just there; they come from 4.4BSD. Flowers are USA 50 State flowers (not especially useful to the part of the world outside USA).

/usr/share/dict/words are from Webster 1934, as stated in the README

They came to OS X via NetBSD (yes, I know, I am a smart*** who can read hacked CVS Id lines
