Copy code error 0

I need to copy my VMware file to a backup. My iMac gives me the error code 0 when I try to drag copy the file/folder from either my hard disk or an external drive (that I need to reformat).

There should be ample room on the disk, unless the trashed files are still there. Time Machine, which I truly both hate and like, will not or is not permitted to make a Time Machine backup of the VMware file, as per VMware settings.

I purchased software that is supposed to make a backup of VMware. Previously, I was successful on 3 occasions of using the drag/copy to an external drive. I have 2 external drives.

I currently have two copies of my first and now none functioning VMware-Vista on both external drives. I need to copy my only backup or a new backup to my other drive, but the system will not let me.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you checked the format of your external hard drive? I have two external hard drives. One is ESATA/USB and is formatted as FAT32 for cross-platform compatibility. The other is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and is used by Time Machine. I have the newest version of VMware Fusion installed with Windows XP Professional SP2 as the guest OS. I am able to copy the vmwarevm file to my Mac OS Extended (Journaled) hard drive but not to my FAT32 hard drive.
