Copying file from DVD-RW problem

I have successfully burned a DVD-RW and I now want to copy some of these files back into my hard drive but there is a problem.
I can copy most files from the DVD-RW but when I move to copy certain files, the Finder (or Pathfinder) does not copy the file and locks up my system in which I have to do a hard restart. I can't even re-launch the Finder of force quit Pathfinder. The window appears that shows the progress but nothing ever transfers. I have five folders on the DVD-RW and it's the last folder that I cannot copy from. I've tried the required trouble shooting and maintenance but it's still the same.
Suprisingly, this happened after the 10.4.6 update. (PPC)

Perhaps there's something wrong with the DVD media itself like a scratch, dust, etc.

When you burned the DVD, did it verify or did you skip verification?

You might want to try using Disk Utility or Toast to create an image of the disk then try copying your files from the image.
