Corrupted Ipod Troubles

I just bought an Ipod off of a friend, I got Itunes 7 and stuff, when I dock the Ipod it says corrupt ipod and that i need to restore... I just bought it from a friend so it doesnt have any songs on it.. so what the heck.. I tried to restore and it says "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod "iPod". The requested resource was not found." So... this makes me a little angry.

You said you "tried" to restore. Did you actually restore? Did your friend have problem with it before selling it to you?? Restore, maybe downgrade the firmware and see what happens. Most of the time, that kind of trick works
