Creation Dates

when we look at network volumes folder or files, it does not retrieve the creation dates. I am in MAC os X tiger. We can see the local files creation dates.
 
Is it a Mac or Windows network volume you are accessing?

I'm not sure you can see this on Windows file servers or Mac file servers accessed over SMB...
