date in dock

hi all,
only added panther to my apple today so sorry for the stupid question, how do i get the date to appear in my dock as the book shows i got with my package..page 3.......colin

Not sure what it looks like in the book. Click on the clock in the menu bar for options, or go to system preferences. Their are options, and perhaps take the clock drag it to the dock.

That's iCal. You'll find it in your applications folder. When it's running, the dock icon reflects the current date.

When using iCal however, make sure you start it up everytime you start your computer. Once you've done that, you can quit it, but the date won't be correct, unless it's either July 17th (the standard date on the icon) you've started it to update it.
