de-interlacing DV-footage

hi,

i couldn't find an answer on this forums' archive, so here's my question;

i need to de-interlace dv-footage, that's going to be used for a performance and will be beamed on a huge screen (±15 x 8 meters), so it's important to keep the footage as sharp as possible.

the three attached files show an example of what i do want, and what i dont.

the first is a screenshot of the footage in Quicktime Player, with 'high quality' enabled. This gives a pin-sharp image, as sharp as it can get, but only when there's no/little motion.

the second image shows the same footage with 'high quality' enabled, but then with motion; obvious interlacing lines..

then the third image shows how Final Cut Pro de-interlaces DV-footage. there's no interlacing lines, but it's way less sharp then the first..probably final cut pro just smooths/averages one field with the other. with After Effects i couldn't get much better results.

so now i'm wondering; is there some very smart software around, that will use both fields to create much sharper deinterlaced video than what finalcut pro and after-effects can do?

it would be great to do this, since i'm using digitized old-film material from somewhere between 1900 and 1940's. So it would be very nice to be able to preserve all the filmgrain and dust and scratches from the original film..

thanks
