Off course MacOS is far better than Windows for its file organization. But still... after some time I have lists of applications which name do not even tell me what they are doing. Most of them have preferences, not all placed where they should be.
In addition to that I use Fink to install the "missing apps", which becomes from time to time a nightmare to maintain.
In addition (II) I use external disks, so that some links can get flacky.
In addition (III) we are 5 users on this machine, to that we have applications in the main application folder as well as in some user's folders... and preferences at both levels too.
I'd like to have an application that can build nice trees of my applications, with all their preferences and other related files, and linked to a short description of the application.
