Default FTP Program

How do I change the default program for handling addresses on the ftp:// protocal? Currently, if I type an FTP address in Safari or click on an ftp link, Netscape 7.0 opens-- not what I want to happen.

If you have Internet Explorer still installed, open it, and goto the preferences. Go to the protocol helpers part, and change it their. I know it sounds stupid, but at the moment, MSIE is the ONLY way to change any protocol helpers other than http(Web) and mailto(email). What will happen when MSIE is no longer the default (10.3), and presumably not shipped with osx? who knows.

Does anyone know where these settings are defined? i.e. presumably they're in a file somewhere?

There's a preference panel called More Internet that will let you change the helpers outside of IE. In fact, that's all you can do with it.
