Hi
I've a MacBookPro 15" with Leopard
When I used Tiger I partitioned the Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 (111,8 GB tot) in 2 partitions:
- the first partition 78,2 GB for the OS
- the second one (with the remaining space) with bootcamp for using windows XP
I deleted the second partition (I didn't used anymore) with Disk Utility and extended the first one (to the maximum space). Now the result is:
----------------
DISC
Description disk: Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 Media
Total capacity: 111.8 GB (120,034,123,776 Bytes)
Bus connection: Serial ATA 2
State writing: Read / write
Connection Type: Interior
State S.M.A.R.T. : Tested
Outline map partitions: Table GUID partition
------------------
PARTITION
Point activation: /
Capacity: 111.3 GB (119,555,952,640 Bytes)
Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Available: 2.8 GB (3,010,834,432 Bytes)
Owners activated: Yes
Space used: 78.2 GB (83,962,253,312 Bytes)
Number folders: 103,363
Number documents: 471,618
----------------
Finder confirms that the space of the second partion (deleted) is not available in the first one.
Instead, in Disk Utility, the graphical interface shows only one partition occupying the entire disk.
Probably I should have exploited BootCamp to delete the 2nd partition...
I tried to repair by Disk Utility starting from the Leopard DVD .. no results
executing "diskutil list", I got:
-----------------------
/ dev/disk0
#: NAME TYPE SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme * 111.8 Gi disk0
1: EFI 200.0 I disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 81.0 Gi disk0s2
-----------------------
note that the partition is 81 GB
bye
Francesco
