Hey, I'm pretty new to macs and I'm having an irritating problem with mine right now. I'm a teacher and I use a program called Gradebook. It's never caused issue before, but recently two of my classes grades have vanished. When I tried to open them : LingSec2.grk and LingSec4.grk- I got a message saying that my computer could not FIND them.
I looked in the trash and there were four folders that said "Recovered Files". When I opened them- it was all gobbly goop like dftmpGCJE000032q4q25q. I've also noticed that iTunes has been randomly deteling albums as well (not sure if that's related). Also, everytime my computer turns on now it says that Superdrive has quit unexpectedly.
In short, I'd really like to find my missing grades! I used finder and it was like the files had never existed. I just downloaded a program called Data Rescue (the demo) and that doesn't seem to be working either. Any other suggestions? Any help would be seriously appreciated.
