Demons in my display D:

Loose alliteration. Good stuff.

Hi everybody! This is my first post, and I'm damn determined to make an ass of myself, so!

I recently installed ubuntu onto my iBook G4 and all seemed to go well, however when I boot into it my display is frazzled and I can't make anything out. It's like watching scramblevision. Incidentally, the same thing happens when I try and install fedora from CD.

Can anyone tell me what's going on, and how I can fix it? o_O.

Thank you,
band

PS. The liveCD seemed to work fine, which is odd..

I know it is a video driver and the OS's not being able to synch correctly with the display. However, I don't know the fix. :)

I don't know much about ubuntu, but I assume that it is using Xfree or Xorg. Basically what you will need to do is go into /etc/X11/ and edit (with vi or emacs) the relevent .conf file to match the specs of your screen. Just make sure that you set it properly or you could damage your screen.
