Hi,
So here's what happened:
I was trying to get iWeb to upload a podcast, kept getting unrecognized error response. I figured it had to be the Little Snitch firewall app I had installed, so when I went to uninstall this application, there were certain files that I couldn't erase. I tried emptying the Trash, but no go-so then I went into Terminal (yes, I know what you're thinking...) and did a little of the 'ol rm -rf ~/.Trash/* action. But these two Snitch application files wouldn't budge. I wanted to make sure if there were current processes going on with these files so I did a bit of what I like to call top, found the two Snitch PID#s, added a dash of kill -9 PID#, only one would quit, things get hazy around here, I think I tried to Kill -9 the second one again, might have worked, but before that, sometimes the cursor in the terminal window would show up in strange places...Anyway, I decided to restart the computer and to see if I could finally get iWeb to upload the podcast. Oh, but before I did all this stuff, I reset the PRAM...So, after rebooting, this time with no PRAM reset, the mac starts acting like it's brand spankin' new. As in, all my files on desktop were gone, nowhere to be found, all my music files are gone, except for some randon assortment of four or five, but all the applications I had were still there. At first I thought it was some strange login glitch, but no-the bad dream persisted. Anyway, is there a way out of this without going to data recovery?
Thanks,
MDizzle
