Desktop on external drive?

Hi guys, just a quicky.

Is it possible to have the desktop on an external hard drive? ie, so if i drag a file to the desktop it will copy to the external hard drive instead of the internal. if so how do i do this? I dont want to boot from the external drive though.

Just drag and drop on the External drives icon.

yeah but that wouldnt be the desktop if it was in that folder....

i only ask because everything else on the computer appart from the apps are on the external, so its better like this.

i'll take it this isnt possible then.

The Desktop is part of your System.
Make a Desktop folder on your external, create an alias and put it on your Desktop and drop the files on that.
