dFonts

I was using InDesign to prep a file for a printer and realized I had designed using the new dFont technology. The printer sent this to me:

I received your email for these fonts. I've never used open fonts before
but in my Adobe Type Managers Help file it said that they should have a
Suitcase file with them. I didn't recieve a suitcase with your compressed
files. Please send a suitcase file with the fonts and hopefully that will
make my system capable of recognizing the files.
Thank you

I'm not quite up to speed on the new fonts, but I thought dFonts were different than OpenType. Either way, any thoughts on how I can provide the fonts properly. I sent them just as they are now, which is a single self contained font with the dFont extension. That did not work for the printer.

Help!

dFonts are used on OS X. What version of InDesign are you running? in OS X?

I think suitcases are old OS 9 stuff and ATM does not exist on OS X. You may want to check with the printer to see what versions he is running. There may be format issues.

Maybe the font file got corrupted when you email it. I would put the font in a folder and Stuffit, then email the file again.
