did the monitor updates happen?

i remember some time ago everyone was awaiting the monitor updates to match the g5 cases. i'm not talking about size differences, just look.

anyway did it happen? the pictures are too small for me to tell.

there was a screen shot of a rumor monitor that was silver with the cheese grater look, but i cant find it

maybe in Paris

they didnt update keyboard and mouse either... the white really dont go with it, and im rather disappointed really

Actually, there was not. The screen shot in question was a low-resolution image of a shipping Cinema Display mixed with equal parts wishful thinking.

I highly doubt Apple is going to put lots and lots of holes into their monitors; it just doesn't fit, they don't need the ventilation.

No, but the Original G4s -> Quicksilver didn't need pinstripes, and neither did (or do the current) the monitors. Apple will probably update them eventually, possibly the first will be the rumored 30" beast. what better way to sell it to those who are slightly fanatical about the appearance of their 'puters??

Pinstripes? What pinstripes? The only pinstripes I have seen have been elements of windows in the UI's of Aqua and IE 5.

arden: the first yummy-looking apple displays until the first cinema display clearly had pinstripes that went very well with the aqua look of mac os x.

the new displays should simply reflect the aluminum look of both the powerbooks and the 'rest of the g5' that hasn't got any holes. if they add speakers to the displays, it would make sense to cheese-grater them. ;-) (i hope they _don't_ add speakers, though.)

however, you can find many good TFTs from other vendors that look good with a G5. example (LG 20" TFT):
