hello,
i purchased an imac last week and i am just tired of solving incompatibility and other issues with it. Last week was the printer sharing problem. now is the palm hotsync prob. If anyone has succcessfully hotsynced their palms on the new macs, please let me know. thanks for your help in advance..pheewwwwww

You can either hit the play pause button or the space bar or you can use play pause in your dock as well...or you can set up speakable items and tell it to play and stop by your voice.

the Mac is pretty easy to use. The trick is getting to know OS X. And make sure you have the latest drivers.

if i got the mac last week, i should have the latest drivers, right?
otherwise,, i can always run the 'mac update' and get them. are there any other ways?

If there's a Apple store around you, I would suggest getting a 'Mac OS X Bible' book. I just converted my brother to Macs and he bought one of those books and said it was very helpful. Trust me, once you get used to Mac OS you'll never go back to Windows. Simply put, Mac OS is the most powerful and simpliest OS to use!

Not necessarily. Some of the older models of NEW machines still ship with 10.1.x.

You can NOT upgrade to 10.2 via Software Update...

But when my Mom got her eMac it had 10.1 but included 10.2 in the box. We had to do the full CD installer/upgrade thing...

have you checked the handspring website? there are some known problems with synching...

what strikes me is that handspring continually refer to 10.1.x being the "current" version of OS X. perhaps that's the main problem?

certainly, whenever i've had problems, it's been due to the manufacturers of my external devices not quite keeping up to speed! i've now learned to do my "due diligence" before buying anything that i want to work with PB. otherwise, it can be very disappointing...

anyway, good luck...
