Bwah....

I'm looking for a Digital Still Camera. I want good quality, USB connection, flash....

I'd REALLY like to spend under $300.... actually, I don't have much choice..... I have to spend under $300.....

Anyone have any suggestions, reviews, anything?
 
I picked out my father a Sony DSC-P30 for $249.99.... it is 1.3 megapixels, USB and has Mpeg mode as well...

it's shortcomings:
1.the included 4mb memory is small... you'll need to cough up an additional $30 for more storage (16mb).
2. it eats AA batteries like Ricki Lake at a sundae bar.

my advice... if you absolutely needs a camera now.... buy a Sony DSC-p30, if you can wait to save up an additional $100, get a Canon Elph... it is 2.1 megapixels, includes more storage and a Lithium rechargeable battery.

the sony looks excellent for my needs. I found it being sold on ebay, apparently "new" but with an 8 mg stick instead of a 4 mg one, which would be quite pleasing. we shall see how it unfolds.... so far it's up to $170... i hate ebay tho, i always lose ;)
 
well i just obtained the P30, with an 8mg memory stick, for 227$ - yay

everyone seems to be very upset about the battery usage, but no one gives a specific number or time range that AA's last for.... any ideas?
