Director audio file Cue Points

Someone told me their reason for not going to OSX now is that SOund Edit is not OSX compatible and they would not be able to insert cue points into audio files for use with director projects.

My question is are these cue points the same as standard markers, and if so, can something like Spark or SOund Studio palce these in the audio files?

I haven't tried it in years, but thats what i thought they were, markers. I think i marked up a file once, and all the marker appeared in Final Cut Pro, or some application. But this i would like to know, to refresh my memory.

I use Sound Edit through Classic without any problems, still a great app for audio.
 
I think Peak should do it too but I haven't tried it yet. Or if you're stuck, SoundForge on Windows should also do markers if you can't get Sound Studio running.
