Disk drive is faulty and I need to reinstall OSX

Is there any way of doing this. I cannot connect to the internet either as I think the ethernet line in is faulty as well.

Two ways:

1. Run the System Restore Disk that shipped with your computer.

2. Run a higher retail point release than the one which shipped with your computer. For example: If your computer shipped with MacOS X 10.2.7, you can install MacOS 10.3 or MacOS X 10.4.

What makes you think that your hard drive is faulty?

The disk reader is broken not the hard drive. So I have no way of reloading OSX.

sorry I'm not sure what its called.......its where you put cd rom or a dvd into the mac
