Disk first aid won't repair

My iMac had been running slow for a while so after various attempts to correct it I ran disk first aid off the 'install CD' on my HD. Verifying brought up a 'invalid sibling link' error saying the disk needed repairing. I ran repair but it couldn't fix it. I have run a hardware test and all is ok there. My mac runs ok, but is this a major problem or one that I can ignore, or can it be fixed??

sounds like time to invest in a real repair and a defragmenting app. most of the options work great with the exception of norton utilities or systemworks.

only drive 10 is currently os x native and has generally gotten good reviews.
also from www.micromat.com is techtool pro which is going to be os x native in a few weeks.

my own personal favorite is Diskwarrior with Plus Optimizer from www.alsoft.com. This one is also expected to be os x native in 5 more weeks.

os x versions of both techtool pro and diskwarrior were being presold at mwsf. at this point i would suggest making sure that either of them will give you a free upgrade to the os x version if you buy now.
